I hate painting indoors in the winter.
A few weekends ago my wife made the mistake of shellacking the wood trim in the master bathroom.
The vapors were bad enough we seriously contemplated a hotel for the night we finally wound up sleeping in a guest room.
And that was with the windows open and fans blowing in the bathroom.

We had the hall and stair tread sanded and refinished. There was some smell, but not too bad. The guy polyurethanes in the morning so it has the day to dry.

Did my whole house renovation yesterday. I hired a housekeeper and she came and did my "spring cleaning". The woodwork looks great now that she's washed it all down and removed the dust. The house looks nice and bright and smells great. I decided it isn't worth a constant backache to keep it clean anymore so she and her husband (they're a team) will be back every two weeks to keep it up.

Always nice when you can just right a check for those jobs you no longer enjoy.

It'd be even nicer if the payments were tax deductible.

We used to used a bi-weekly cleaner.
We had one that was great but she got pregnant and couldn't work anymore.
She subbed it out to folks who weren't so good.
They accidentally knocked over the bottle of lemon grass oil on our bed mattress.
Didn't bother to mention it, and we didn't notice until it was time to get in bed.

Needless to say, we weren't thrilled.

Over the years I've had cleaning people on/off. I often found that at first, they did a good job and then started slacking off and I'd discover things they skipped and they simply had to go. I'm hoping this will not happen with this housekeeper.

Let's just say I hope that is how the oil got on the bed....
