Because they like to torment you..........just you. They heard you had it coming.

My rant for the day if anyone cares. Companies who now charge billing fees.

I placed an order with a company we've been doing business with for many years. I was told "We'll be happy to debit your account now." or we can mail you a bill, there is a $2.00 billing fee, but email invoices are free.

I got a letter today from another vendor who asked for updated company information and, at the bottom, there was an area for selecting invoices by email or fax.

So, they don't want to spend the money on mailing invoices, and they want to use our paper to print up their invoices? What's up with that? A sign of the times, I suppose.

I think it's the s2ki equivalent of a stress test - without the treadmill.

It's a test to see if you are paying attention.

PS- I agree, it can't be that difficult to send a reminder PM. I could probably program it and I can barely turn on a pc.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the S2Ki age act as a reminder of sorts?

What is interesting for me is that the past couple of years, my membership expired, but I didn't turn into a Guest. Still showed Gold. Not sure why. I just looked at my membership page and my last one expired in Nov. I renewed it.

If any of my vendors try that....

I'll cancel orders..... and blacklist them!

Unless they are the only approved source of the material.

actually a lot of big, mid sized and even smaller companies are doing this to reduce postage, handing (ie paying someone to stuff the envelopes) time and like you mention even the paper expense

in today's paperless society no one wants a paper bill and it's not needed for audit purposes anymore because you have an audit trail with your PO and the amount paid to the vendor

e-mail also reduces the chance for the old lost in the mail excuse -

heck GE, Ford, Canrig, 3m and Dupont now require that we enter our "invoices" into their online system.

NO mail, no paper invoices and they do not even have to pay a clerk to do the data entry on their end as we are required to do this. further, they do not pay via a check anymore - all ACH payments - again no paper, no mail, no lost checks and no choice as it's all electronic

everyone is driven by cost as this is one way to keep the costs down

makes perfect sense
Well...... entering your invoice in someones system is one thing... emailing is entirely different...

How many companies have spam filters?

Ever lose an email in there? I have.....

We try and get vendors to accept the P-Card.... but most vendors don't want to pay the VISA fee.....

Only invoices we want by email are the ones extending beneficial payment terms....
