Thinking of retiring next year. Finances should be ok, but worried about keeping busy. Maybe I'll just pour wine at a tasting room part time. Depends on who I work for. Having been a owner or partner most of my career I could not take some simpleton bossing me around.
We met with our CPA awhile ago. My wife mentioned retirement. He asked her if she was nuts.
Bill's 85(my CPA) and he'll never quit counting. So after retiring twice, I'm stuck.
Life is good. Besides, it's fun.

No update. Still working, and wishing and hoping..............
After retiring one week after hitting age 60 it has been 13 years of enjoyment for me. Thinking back I began planning for it long before I knew what it was. Growing up as an only child I learned very early how to entertain myself with things I was interested in doing or researching. It carried over into my corporate life and then into my retirement life. I had a good job with zero stress when I retired but I’ve always enjoyed my hobbies even more. Financially I figured I could do it if we didn’t change our lifestyles too much because it can be easier to spend more when you have the time. Well, we do spend more but not too much more. As long as my investment returns cover my expenses I am more than happy to stay the path, now that we are both happily retired and enjoying it.

I've been listening to his advice for over 30 years. His point was we've worked a long time to create something. We're successful at it by any measure and we're having fun doing what we do. He should know.
