Dave, did you ever meet her, since she lived in the same town as you?

 

No, I had no idea she lived in my area. If I did I would have invited her to talk at one of our local or regional meets. Like Jerry said, she and Denise would have been a great pair to talk to over diner a few pints.

 

I'm getting "The Week" magazine and learned about her in their article. She was the very first motorcyclist to run and finish the off-road race, Baja, solo, and instead of giving her the award they gave it to the first solo car driving person that ran it that same year. She was into motocross and motorcycles before cars.

 

You have to be Old to really appreciate what she did.... Gene knows... and a few others here ....but Jerry ... I am impressed he knows these people I grew up with.

 

I remember her as Jean Lindamood. Enjoyed her work for Car and Driver. R.I.P.

 

I pretty much bought all the car magazines for decades back in the day. Car and Driver and Automobile Magazine were the two I enjoyed the most. Jean was a very entertaining writer, and seemed like she would have been great fun to party with. Godspeed Jean...

 

Somewhere in the dusty archives of my grey matter I have a filing error.
I would have wagered the Jean had spent some time writing at Autoweek.
I can remember when she was just the new kid writing.
