I bought my S2000 last April and my friend Jim took 100s of photos along the way. He just now got around to putting a few on the web. That's probably not a fair coment as I've had his pictures for a long time
I highly recommend doing as much of Route 66 as you can. Take your time too! There's lots to see in every direction
A few people have asked for a few details about the trip. Maybe I'll talk my buddy into sharing his journal and some more photos and sort of recreate the trip. A few remembrances...
1) As soon as we left Barstow we got on the old route... It was beautiful and VERY rough at the same time. I remember thinking the car was going to shake apart a couple times. After Amboy we cut back up to 40 to Needles solely because of the road condition.
2) We went from Needles to Oatman. We had a great buffalo burger lunch in town at the saloon and then got held up by a gunfight. There were wild burros walking all over town. I was afraid one of them would eat on the converible top so I kept checking. We had a blast when we left town as the road got very twisty, but it was in bad shape.
3) We stayed at the Wigwam hotel in Az. It was REALLY neat and affordable. The son of the original owner runs it now.
I'll talk to my buddy Jim and try to build up a blow by blow account of all the neat places we stopped and saw...

Yeah, I've driven that section of road. I had to use both lanes to drive around the potholes and rough sections.
Nice photos, I did a portion of US66 out side of St Louis last June. It is a shame that more is not done to save this this piece of history. Hope your post more photos of the trip.
