scatology
Hopefully the final episode of the roof adventure.
there have been occasions where terms like dense, thick and pig headed have been mentioned in my presence.
It is rumored I may have been the noun related to those adjectives.
I've never been known to
Through prior escapades we've eliminated actually going on the roof itself to do work.
the question remained to how to install a cable 8 feet above the gutter.
One difference which separates homo sapien from the other mammals is the ability to use tools.
After stewing for a few days, I was wandering through the cellar looking for inspiration, nothing.
Then I wandered into the garage and saw the edger.
Hmmm 6 ft long handle with a sharp semi circular edge which could lift shingles.
A quick scamper to the roof showed in fact this would work quite admirably.
The only challenge was then to secure the retaining clip on the edger and then how to secure it to the roof.
A roll of scotch tape did the job of retaining the cable and clip to the edger.
The last hurdle was getting the clip to stay in place when it had been slid under the shingle.
It will stay by itself but not when the edger and tape were pulling on it.
I knew I was close but how?
On a last meander through the garage and the hoe called out to me.
Laying the hoe over the edger and against the retaining clip did the trick.
I'm pleased.
I have the stupid cable back in place for the winter.
I have no broken bones.

and the +1 will be very happy it's done
