Yep, the neighbor who bought my S2000 in 2013 is getting ready to sell it. He's turning 80, had heart surgery a couple years ago, and the car has been sitting in his garage for most of the past five or so years. I showed him this site and Bring A Trailer as the two places to list it. Its a 2001 with 57k miles. I sold it to him for $15k and now he can likely get $25k for it. He said he is emotionally attached to it but his grandson has talked him into selling it since it sees little to no use. I offered to buy it back for what he paid - - but he's not falling for that since I showed him what they are going for these days. It certainly is one-of-a-kind with the custom interior changes I did to the center consul and driver's door plus installing the Elda roll-bar. If you know of anyone looking I would be glad to pass the contact on before he lists it.
You should buy it back, even at your neighbor's price. Aside from the fact that it's a great car, in a couple of years you'll be able to sell it at a profit.
Rob, I never bought it to make a profit. I sold it because of my wife's back issue in the car - which thankfully she does not have in the MG - otherwise I truly loved it. After years of driving it on the road by myself and getting more vintage on the track I knew it was time to sell it. I'm too old now for the track and I have never had a desire to own any car that just sits in the garage. A lot of people get off showing what they have in a garage but I am not one of them. Use it or loose it.

I understand but on the other hand I know you'd give it a good home and take good care of it. My point about selling it was that even if you pay market price by time you're finished with it you can sell it and get your money plus out of it. I'm sure if you owned it you'd get enjoyment out of it.
Funny how many of us have stuck around here long after our S2000s are gone.
Love what you did with the center console. Even Honda saw the need to gussy up that bare bones center console in '02
Yeah, mine has been gone for several tears and I still miss it. I loved my 00 and 04 but it was time to move on. I hope it sells Dave. Do what you think is right.
