Cape May is a victorian town with a number of walking tours and sites of interest
.
Washington St. Mall is quaint, with a number of small shops. Tha Mall is about 3 blocks long and shops on the side streets as well. There are many other shops throughout the town also.

For those coming from the south you can take the Cape May-Lewes ferry to save some miles, and it's fun as well. You can also take the ferry as a walk-on and go shopping in Rehoboth De. Delaware has no sales tax, NJ has sales tax on most things other clothing and groceries. There is a shuttle from the ferry to Rehoboth.

There are few wineries in the area and numerous other attractions.

And of course there is a very nice beach a stones throw from the hotel. Yes, you don't have to throw it very far to hit the beach.
Some additions:
Wheaton Village-When NJ was the glass capital of the new world Cumberland and Gloucester counties were the Venice and Murano. A very nice meseum of art and production glass. About a 30-35 min. ride.

The Wildwoods-Designated as a National Architectural something or other for the "Doo-Wop" building of many of our childhoods. Also a very typical seashore resort.

AC-It's not Vegas, but it's actually gotten quite nice and interesting, and the gambling is top shelf.
I'm sure that I will think of more, after all I have been living here for 29+ years.

Although it's way too early for this, I'm thinking that the folks coming from the DC area, the south, and those of us on the Delmarva Penninsula all join up in Lewes and ride the ferry over together. Should be a neat photo op.We have plenty of time to plan for this, of course.

This is a good idea...I was thinking of taking the ferry (at least on the way up). How large is the ferry, Gene?
