While watching the movie "The Family Plan" (no review yet), one of the characters stops at a AAA type of place asking for maps and travel assistance. The clerk is suggesting using maps on phone. The character has ditched technology on the trip. Anyway, as the clerk looks for maps, drawers are empty, until the final one which has info, and as he's opening draw taking things out the dust is most obvious. Gave me a chuckle since we still travel with paper maps? Once again, who else travels with paper maps? Hopefully in addition to using a little technology?

Triptiks baby!! I generally use maps on the phone I’ll have to admit but I do still have a few maps in the map pocket of my S just in case.
I remember awhile back being on a group drive I think it was the mowhawk trail and everyone was trying to find some directions on their devices and I unfolded my paper map and pointed out where we had to go.

Barb used to love to navigate with maps, now she just reads a book.

I was glad I had my maps as we had to go to Plan B on our trip to Maine. Got to the botanical gardens in Boothbay just after 1:00 OMG, the cars filling the parking lot. We've been there before, forget it, no need to be in a crowded place. So Plan B was to check out a lighthouse. In the area we are in, sometimes you have to go down to go up. It was good to take a look at the map.

As a matter of fact, I have the map next to me as I plan our day tomorrow. Originally I thought we'd go back to the south to the gardens early. However, that area is more touristy than where our hotel is and it's over 45 minutes to get there. Nevermind. There are a couple lighthouses we can stop at, one which has a nice long breakwater to get a walk in. A couple state parks with ocean views. We can keep busy much closer to where we are staying.

Maps are only useful if you actually know where you are.
If you know where you are, you aren't lost then are you?

therefore why would a man need a map?

We do too when we're out camping, never know when the service will go spotty. Rand McNally to the rescue.

After stocking up on no-end auto related tools I stopped hanging out at hardware stores. I have friend who is constantly buying something. Since he had a basement water leak he mentioned his water alarm. What? Never heard of them. Sounded like cheap insurance, so I ordered these from Amazon. By far, they had the best reviews with 95% at 5 star and 5% at 4 star. I don't recall seeing reviews like that on any product, ever. They take 2 AA batteries and purchase comes with 10.
