I just had two visitors from Germany in Colorado. They wanted to see the San Juans north of Durango on off-road trails. This is the trail I took them on between Silverton and Ouray.

It is not the Rubicon Trail, but it is rocky. We took a picnic lunch along, and they enjoyed the day. If you forward to about 20 min in the tape you can see some of the rougher stretches.

Jim, good to see the American pioneer spirit lives on. Is this a "one way trail"? That stretch at the end looked scary to me, and seeing the answer to my question made me say, no f'n way would I want to be up there.

Wow Jim..you guys do drive your Jeeps as they were intended to be driven, OFF road.

Posted this in Pic thread, but I know the interest there may be limited. The S2000 continues to bring people together. Jeff (WhrDLMI) and Bobbie of Mid A were taking some vacation time in our area. Jeff contacted me and asked if we wanted to meet up for dinner. That's a yes! We met them originally at the Nor'Easter in CT in 2006, and have seen them at a few other meets as well. We had a most enjoyable evening/dinner. I'm still amazed at how this little car continues to bring people together so many years down the road.

Thanks! The newer JLU Rubicon Jeep is a much better rock crawler than the 05 was. Come back out, and we will do Moab!

Those kinds of visits are lots of fun.

Gene, just for fun this is a video from the Rubicon Trail in a JLU Rubicon like the one I bought for the Alaska trip.

This section is on the worst part of the trail...
One of the vehicles (a Toyota) punctured a radiator.

Yep! I have no plans to do anything that extreme. But is nice to see what the vehicle will do. LOL
