when it comes to nursing homes, it's not the building, it's the people and the management.
It is however a lot easier to keep the modern facilities cleaner. they were designed for ease of cleaning.
but if the people don't do their job, it doesn't matter.

Very true. A friend of ours just retired after 51 years at the same place of employment, a local nursing home. Started as a nurse's aid, while in school, became the activities director after college and the administrator after receiving her masters degree. She is only the second administrator since the nursing home was opened. She ran a tight ship and the nursing home is highly rated, often "deficiency free" at government inspections.

I hope not, but if you do, we'll sneak in some beer.

Proud of our granddaughter. She got accepted into the nursing program at UMASS (Dartmouth). Her first choice. Will be able to live at home and not leave college a million $ in debt. Time passes, she was just a little one when I started hanging around here.

She did! It seems like this photo was just taken yesterday. She was welcoming her brother. She was five.
