Sue are you and Dennis recovered from your recent issues?

Thanks for asking, Lainey.
Dennis is still going to "swallowing therapy," twice a week to strengthen (?) the swallowing muscles, and he is having some kind of electrical stimulation for those muscles, too. I think they are going to do a another barium swallow test to check things out in a while. He went back to work on April 22.
He has had quite a few follow up doctor appointments with his different specialists, therapy appointments, and also ophthalmologist appointments because he is having cataract surgery on June 10 and 17. Since he wears contact lenses, he has had to stop wearing those in the meantime before the cataract surgery so that his eyeballs can revert back to their usual shape (or something like that anyway.) He was wearing hard contact lenses, but soft contact lenses would be okay to wear before the cataract surgery. He tried that for a short time, but had a hard time putting them in and out. I guess it is a different technique compared to hard contact lenses. With all of the trying, he scratched one cornea, so abandoned that idea and is just wearing his glasses before the cataract surgery.
My ear issues have sort of resolved themselves. I've been to the ENT doctor twice. I went the second time because my hearing was definitely still not good, and I was concerned. They told me that I just have "to be more patient," and that the hearing should eventually return back to normal after the ear infections, ruptured eardrums, and trapped fluid. I'm trying to be patient, I really am. I'm not sure if my hearing is back to my normal or not yet, or whether I am just getting used to this new normal of somewhat reduced hearing. I might go back to the ENT doctor again in a month or so, and have them do the extensive hearing tests again.
Thanks again for asking.

Glad things are looking up, Sue. Is Dennis able to eat the way he wants to? Do they know what caused the swallowing issue?
He's back at work. I guess he still likes his job!

Don't use 1 800 flowers. I've never had anything good come out of that company and have received another disappointment from them, today.
My daughter's idea was to send me a lilac plant since she knows how much I love them and that I've been taking blooms from a bush that's in a parking lot near the street. The gift plant showed up today and I bawled like a baby at her thoughtfulness. It was from my kids as a get well present that wouldn't die. I let them know that it meant so much to me that I was bawling. That's what counts the most to me. But, then, I also called the company to tell them the plant was already almost dead. They couldn't replace it since it was "no longer available". I could pick something else for $55, which I did; a succulent dish that should be hard to kill. Eventually, I told my daughter the truth about the plant itself and she said it was supposed to be a lilac in full bloom with a diffuser of some sort. Not quite. No directions even or anything about the plant at all.

It was a beautiful thought but I'm with you. I have had nothing but bad luck with 1-800 Flowers.
