Default Small flat-screen TV

I need to replace the living room TV (old style - analog went bye bye), which is in a cabinet, so size is limited. Probably with a 24" diagonal, maybe 27". Looking at LED HDTVs. They all seem pretty much alike - Toshiba, Samsung, etc. Anyone bought a small one recently? Recommendations?

I just bought a small toshiba for a bedroom. I think at that size, they pretty much all looked alike so I'd payed attention to the sound quality and other functions. I chose a toshiba as it has a wireless hookup so I can access my computer and the internet on it. It works great for a monitor from the couch and you can live stream right into it.

PS Never buy electronics before Christmas....it will a third less on Jan 1.

We are "waiting" for our TV in the TV room to give out and give us and excuse to go with a flat screen. Hasn't happened yet.

We did buy a small flat screen when we re-did the kitchen. They were more expensive back then, and I found a big difference in picture quality with the less expensive brands.

We ended up with a Sharp that we've been very happy with.

I agree with comment to focus on the quality of the sound. I bought a small Philips LCD for the garage and although the picture is fine, I HATE the sound.

I would suggest Vizio. All the bells and whistles, great performance and a very reasonable price. I'll bet you can go larger, you'll be surprised how narrow the edges of the set are compared to the older type TVs. Be sure and couple the flat screen with a cable service that can support HD programming to get the most out if it.

Yeah, I know Vizio. I'll check it out. I can't have a screen width of more that 27". That's the limit for the cabinet. I already have cable HD service on the other TV, so simply a matter of getting the new screen and the HD box for the LR.

Samsung makes a 26" that is ~26 wide side-to-side of the bezel. I am very impressed with Samsung's TVs. I sincerely doubt that you will find 1080p in that size TV as it would make the pixels very small

^ You've confused me...I see this one on Amazon and it's 1080p - VIZIO M261VP 26-Inch 1080p LED LCD HDTV, Black. And this one - Samsung UN22D5003 22-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV (Black).

Well, I stand corrected. I haven't looked at small TVs in a while, and there was a lot of brouhaha a couple of years back about the small size of the pixels, I guess they've gotten much better with the glass.

^ The Vizio gets very good reviews. I'm leaning toward that one.
