Snakes Update
Here is a little update of where I am at as far as healthcare is concerned. I am glad that winter is over, one of the worst in personal memory.
Now that I have had 6 weeks of radiation, a Radio Frequency Ablation of the tumor that radiation would not kill, a quadruple bypass, and a fractured pelvis I am actually beginning to feel better.
According to my cardiologist my heart is in good shape. According to my Chemotherapist, my dead tumor has not changed in size, not great news, but it may be too early yet. We were hoping for some disintergration since it is dead. Also on the bad side is they do not know if the dead tumor is throwing out live cancer cells or not. The small tumor on my adrenal gland has not grown in one year, good news. The node (code name for tumor if they do not know if it is malignant) in my lung has not changed in size, good news. Bad news is they found two more nodes in the same lung and we will have to track those. They could have always been there just not seen as they are pretty small.
My pelvis is a different issue now that the damage caused by the tumor, radiation and the ablation is extensive and has left me in pain and on crutches. A major portion of my right iliac is gone, just gone. I cannot stand the crutches, they are very limiting but at least I can still get around and I can still drive. I think I would go crazy if I could not drive. I guess any chances at an NFL career are pretty much done.
I went on the New England Mohawk drive a couple of weekends ago and had a blast. I do just fine from the drivers seat. I found a pair of collapsible crutches that I can put in the trunk which makes room for a passenger in the S and allows me some walking around abilities.
Now I need to build up more stamina, so I have been exercising every other day on a stationary recumbent bike. I also have been spending some time in the pool although it is still a little cold. Heating the pool can be expensive. I got a gas bill for $226 for the month of May. I heated it for a week. Yikes. The sun will naturally warm it over this week as the temps will be in the 90's. So I am hoping for 80 degree pool water.
I have been back at work full time since the beginning of June. It is amazing how much you miss when you are out almost 5 months.
Anyhow, that catches everyone up with my little situation.

Wow, that is quite the update. I'm glad your getting better and able to get around some. Nothing wors than being cooped up indoors during the summer months. Hope to meet up with you sometime this driving season.

Glad to hear you are feeling better and well enough to drive.
I am sure that getting to drive your S with the top down on twisty roads will lift your spirits. Maybe all doctors should prescribe driving a roadster as a form of positive mental therapy.
