^^ I could not disagree with you more, Mike. Hit the backroads and nooks and crannies of America, and you will discover this for yourself.
After driving roundtrip on I-405 for two hours each way today, I've discovered a major downside to SoCal

125+ miles at 70 mph/ bumper-bumper for half of the time is a little hard to take.....5-6 lanes wide
Plus, the OTHER half of the time was at 5 mph

You have to plan your trips to avoid rush hour traffic. Rush hour actually includes several hours: 6-9 AM, and 3:30-6:30 PM.

^I was very lucky yesterday. I left home around 11:50 am and sailed all 160 miles to my son's place in Santa Barbara/Goleta. Never a problem.
Can I be that lucky on the way home, today?

Kyras, strains on infrastructure are pretty high on her list, not just traffic but saftey services, education, etc. But even higher is what she precieves is a the lack of a 'howdy, neighbor' attitude.
