Food prices have risen tremendously over the past few months and I read several news articles that with the coming holidays we'll be having a butter shortage. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

I heard about the butter shortage, though I don't know the reasons for it. I'm glad we had our T-day already, and we definitely used butter. Sadly the tools being used to fight inflation won't lower food costs or fuel costs, two large expenses for many.

We don’t use butter. I cut way back on salt intake after a TIA so not an issue.

Don't use butter??? Sacrilege!!

I bet you have never gone through what they have in Europe then. Completely different than Costco, believe me. The French butter with sea salt from Normandy (I know it is in German as I bought it there) is unbelievable with fresh corn. I can't have it any other way. Slathered on fresh made banana bread is another God-send.

As you can see, you can get unsalted too.

I stayed away from butter for years, but realized how good it was on bread. I generally cook with margarine, but my popover recipe calls for butter. I have tried President butter, but now my favorite is Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter. Really good.

Nice you SS people are getting a big raise. I am not eligible for SS. Not complaining, though.

OOOOOOOO fresh out of the oven popovers with butter are so good. I use more butter than I should but it makes everything so tasty.
Glad those of you that get S.S. are getting a raise.

I abandoned margarine, the polyunsaturated fats scare me now.
I now lean towards monosaturated fats like olive oil.
