Default Social Security to be raised

For those of us receiving SS, we are going to get a raise in January. The bad news is that medicare is going up.

Just like those of us who are still working. Health insurance keeps taking a bigger bite out of our paycheck, (deductibles and co-pays are rising) and the raises don't keep up with rising costs.

Wait a minute, I'm not sure when I last got a raise.

^I know, it seems that people who work are actually the one's on a "fixed income." Retiree's usually receive a COLA at some point, many still in the workforce don't receive any.

So....should I start my SS early (Dec 11 or Jan 12)....rather than wait as planned until Feb 12 (my "full retirement" month) ????

Jerry, you should wait. Just like you have been on getting a 'vintage' car. That way you have something to look forward to at the home.

Jerry, I'm with jetsitter and Gene. Take the $$ and run. You can always invest it and perhaps do much better in the long run.

Jerry just puts a little extra thought into financial decisions than some of us.

He's never one to unless it's to ride a camel, while traveling the world.

Jerry, did you get the AARP discount on the camel ride? Inquiring minds want to know!

Back on topic, I'll take SS as soon as I can, though it won't be at 62, as I likely will still be working.
