For the past several days and weeks I have been getting MORE spam per day then I used to get in a couple months. My best guess is that it's S2kI that is generating it. Am I right? Are you getting a ton of it as well?

 

Me too, Dave.... but I don't think it is being caused by s2ki.

My daily "Spam Count" for my primary e-mail address (NOT the one I use for s2ki) is now in the neighborhood of 1K (up from the 300-400 or so that was typical of about a month ago).

Spam to my other "less publicized" addresses has also increased.

It is a problem that will never completely go away, but the majority of it COULD be stopped if (at the price of eliminating "web mail") ALL e-mail had to be authenticated both by the sending and receiving ISP. This could be done electronically, and would take far less 'resources' than the distribution of all this garbage is consuming today. I'm not holding my breath, as for whatever reason.... that just ain't gonna happen.

It is a time consuming, royal pain in the a$$.

 

I've got plenty today. I don't see a lot of my spam as it is filtered out to go right to the "junk folder." However, if I access my home email from the web source vs. the program I used at home (Mozilla) I see all the junk.

 

And how many people actually invest in the penny stocks they tout or buy the "male organ" enhancing creams or would actually buy RX drugs through these sources? How can it be worthwhile for them to continue to send this junk. Or if someone actually is buying into these programs, I'd like to know who --- I could think of something worthless to sell them!

 

I'm not getting any more than I ever got, but my spam filter screens out most of the junk.

 

I just invested in a penny stock company that sells those male organ enhancing creams. I know that I am going to be raking in the dough in just a few months. They promised me!!!!

What's really odd is that I get all of the spam about wanting to help me increase the size of the male organ I don't have and Dean never gets any of them! I guess they can't tell sex by e-mail address. Or maybe they just have a list of people who don't need their help.

I haven't noticed any big difference in spam.

 

I have a Norton filter that sends 99.9% of all the junk to the garbage section but I still go there to clean it out. I never got more than 5 or 6 over a month and now I get 5 an hour. Someone made me popular. What makes me wonder (for example) was saying on this site and no other that I lost my camera and needed to replace it. I've had at least a dozen camera spams since. So if the Web Site Gods are listening..... I've already picked out my replacement so save the air space for some Growth Cream (never too old to get bigger).
