Default Speaking of Ferrari...

Yes, the other thread about the high population of very-top-end cars here in South Florida is right on the money -- and it's as true up here in Boca and (of course) Palm Beach as it is farther south. I've become so used to seeing them that I don't stare any more (although I continue to be surprised at how small the Lambos are).

Trouble is, now I want to join in, not because of seeing them on the street, but because of a National Geographic TV program I saw on their "Ultimate Factories" series, about building 599 GTBs. The way the process was presented makes the $250K price tag look like something of a bargain. (The program actually showed a number of 430s on the assembly line as well; they were probably hoping no one would notice.) Lots of building by hand, with great care.

Um, as they say: "Nice car." HPH

That is 'way cool' how they build the F car (don't tell Doug I said that). Oh, since I know he'll read this one, let me add...... there's lots of room for human error.

I believe one of the Dec 08 Autoweeks said that Ferrari builds about 9 cars a day, and the highest concentration of them is in Dubai.

Well, they build 'em all in Maranello Italy, right?

I would expect that they sell the most in some place like Dubai, though.

Patty, I think I'll take a 599 (which is only a coupe, not a roadster, I believe) in some dark silvery kind of color, with a light-colored interior.

Also, I want fuzzy dice to go with it. HPH

Sad really. I looks like the owners NEVER drive them; perhaps two trips to the Dairy Queen per year.

Yes it is.
There's a lot of cars like that here..they change them out every year before they come back for the Winter.

They get used 3 months a year
