Don't you have an old harness laying around.....

This big dumb animal was bred to pull carts; why not boats. Good idea.

caution; x-rated photo

RC, excellent advice. We use a variety of Vets and my wife does major research on all animal related issues. She orders a lot of stuff over the internet which saves $.

Lainey if we did the memorial thing we wouldn't have any grass left in the yard. One of the strangest things was watching them bury Donna's previous horse.

Here's a bit of Weird History for you:

It wasn't until sometime in the Middle Ages, I believe, that harnesses were invented. Before that, horses pulled things with ropes around their necks. Understandably, they weren't too cooperative about the whole deal. I expect that harnesses led to an explosion of agriculture and other modern ideas. HPH

I can imagine. If the cat had died at the vet's place, due to illness or being "put to sleep" we would have opted for cremation and just buried her ashes. Not much digging required for that, but she was only a six pound cat, so again, not much digging was required.

My sis has a pet cemetery in her yard, but just dogs and cats, and maybe a rabbit or two, no horses.

I've always thought that spending big money on pets was ridiculous. But I guess it's really no different than spending the same money on carbon fiber body panels, expensive vacations, season tickets, etc. They're all person indulgences, and just because I think some of them are silly doesn't make them wrong.

Since most pets become part of the family, spending to keep them healthy is a great idea. But getting them artificial testicles is where I would draw the line. Especially if I paid to have them removed in the first place.

This is our "problem child". She was a stray Rick could not leave behind about 10 years ago, so we gave her a home. Her eyes aren't really green, reaction to the flash. She kept going into my linen closet and sitting in a basket where I kept clothes to be ironed. I finally got tired of cat fur on our clothing, moved the ironing and put a pillow in there for her.

She used to be 15 pounds, but we put her on a diet. She's looking good at just over 11 pounds. Before her weight loss she was too fat to clean herself properly. She gets special canned food only with some gross enzyme mixed in. Very appealing at 6:30 AM when I feed her.
