Pretty nice spring here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Stormy yesterday and earlier today, and we might get more tomorrow but it should be beautiful this weekend. Relatively low humidity (for this area) with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s. Should be a great top down weekend.

Cool, windy and rainy spring so far. We had a huge N'oreaster storm on Sunday into Monday. 70 MPH winds at the beach and 21 foot waves with high surf, beach erosion and flooding. Bad timing for the Memorial Day week end next week as the resort towns took a big hit and lost lots of beach. Better today but a storm is brewing for tonight and tomorrow. We were spared any damage and the new home stood up well to the elements. Unfortunately, 1 life lost on a ship which was floundering off the coast of Bethany. Of course when you think about the disasters in China and elsewhere this pales in comparison.

Wow Ray, sounds nasty! We had some impressive wind here on the coast of MA on Monday as well.

On the + side. I know it's spring. I had a hummingbird at my feeder.

I love hummingbirds. Pic taken from a previous season.

Well we are past spring here in Texas. Today will be the first day we hit triple digits on the temps. All the hot weather plants, Lantana, Sage, Esparanza, etc. are all out.
The Chrysanthemums are getting ready for the spring bloom. They bloom again in the fall. I think they get confused with the seasons down here.

My first spring in my new house has been okay. One day I'll finally turn the heater on, and then two days later there is record breaking heat in the mid 90s. It has been warm (90s) this weekend but tomorrow is supposed to be back down to the 70s.

I took my sweetheart to my favorite place Saturday, Kennedy Meadows, and it was nice and early Spring up there. It's at 6,000 feet so it's about two months behind in Spring time from the regular So Cal Spring. Fall comes about two months earlier, too.

I, too Lainey, love the smell of Spring.

Sounds lovely!! Do you have any springtime pics of your cabin?
I don't have any good spring pictures of the property, only fall, winter, and summer pics. I'll post some after we get there if it is still spring-like.

Patty (Kyras), what part of September are you and Jerry (Spokesman) planning to be in Colorado?

Jim:

I don't know if Patty has contacted you, but we're tentatively planning a Colorado trip around the last week of Sept / first week of Oct (Sept 28th - Oct 4th). I'd like to take Patty to Bear Lake to see the Aspens, so we're staying flexible. Hopefully, it will be a good season for Aspen Gold.

Will you be in Durango around that time?? I know Patty has been to your home there, and it would be great to see you! I the Southwestern quadrant of Colorado, especially around Pagosa Springs, Durango, and Ouray.
