Default Spring Fling 2008

I know that we have many Canadian vintage members. Are there any decent driving routes near Montreal or Toronto? I think somewhere in Eastern Canada would be accessible for many of us.

Does Canada have a spring??

While we are on the topic of SF, I have a thought I'd like to throw out there.

In the past, we voted on a spot and Deb was most gracious to do the planning, even from long distances.

Deb has bowed out of planning, after more than doing her share, so my thought is this.

Planning a meet takes a ton of time. If someone wants to take the bull by the horns and plan a meet, IMHO, we might want to go along with whatever location they feel comfortable planning a meet in. The location may not be where we all want to go, but as long as we're together...............

The meets have generally included one if not two dinners, hotels, drives, drive groups, etc. A TON of work. You also need to have local help for mapping out the route and leading the drive groups.

If a few folks, in various locations, are willing to plan a meet, then we could vote on which area is preferred.

Just my .02

I took your "spring" remark literally, as in "Berkeley Springs". Sue just informed me that you were probably referring to Spring as in one of the seasons.

Here is some average temp data: (in degrees F)

Toronto:

April 52 degrees high/35 degrees low; mean temp. 44 degrees
May 65 degrees high/45 degrees low; mean temp. 55 degrees

Montreal:

April 51 degrees high/35 degrees low; mean temp. 43 degrees
May 65 degrees high/47 degrees low; mean temp. 43 degrees

Charlottesville (for comparison)

April 68 degrees high/45 degrees low; mean temp. 56 degrees
May 76 degrees high/53 degrees low; mean temp. 65 degrees

So, based on the average temp. data, these 2 Canadian cities might be a bit too cold for top-down driving!

Are you volunteering, Emil? How about the FALL Gathering in Canada? OTOH, it might be tough on those very far south of the Mason-Dixon line

Is top down driving still possible on our traditional (twice) Columbus Day weekend.....October 6/7/8 in 2007

I'll bet that Marco/ Denise, Triple H and perhaps Levi/ Karla would help....
