The Trends Hotel is "crawling" distance (about twenty five yards) from the Sand Box, the best restaurant and bar on Caye Caulker.

These recommendations are a little old, but I believe they still hold true from my experience:
Motels per Consumers Report, Apr ‘06: Best Luxury: Embassy, Westin, Mariott. Worst Luxury: Radisson. Best Moderate: Hampton, Fairfield, Sleep Inn, LaQuinta, Drury Inn, Worst Moderate: Ramada, Clarion Best Budget: Red Roof, Microtel, Extended Stay As for Motel 6, ask Jerry, they keep the lights on for him - not me. :LOL: |

I try not to make the same mistakes twice. I would drive 4.5 hours each way rather than stay overnight there. |

They were all clean, safe areas, decent beds, included coffee and a donut for breakfast. I booked them ahead and found them easily...using the available locations as a "target" for the day's long drive. All that I was doing was sleeping for 7-8 hours and taking off again at 7 or 8 am. Why pay 100/night to get some bogus "points" that I may never use? |

I think Patty used to stay at the LaQuintas on her trips to the east. We've never stayed in one, but in the past, we have stayed at Super 8 Motels with no problem. Haven't stayed in one in a while though.

I moved up a notch on my '08 trip and stayed at Super 8 motels. Most were either new or in very good condition and at an average of $59 a night plus free breakfast and free internet they were great. I only ran into one that was worth walking out of and I did!

I'm glad that paS2K has taken it upon himself to announce an alternate location. I however have nothing to do with this and will not stand behind the quality of this location. Attendees, feel free to stay wherever you want, all activities will take place at the Marriott.
