Something to do with the fact you get a "corner", but in forum talk, I really don't know what the deal is. I was the first time I saw it. I don't hold up the sign too often. Just looks bad!

I think you can tell when you are getting a corner depending on how many posts per page you are set to view. I don't think I have mine set properly on the board settings.

Jim/poks2K seems to get a lot of the corners lately.

 

Yeah...I'm not sure why it's called a corner whore....maybe because people keep ending up with them and the thing these days is to call somebody (jokingly, hopefully) who keeps "lucking into something" a whore? As long as we're askin', I see we have some new icons. Please use these in sentences 'cause I can't figure out in what context I'd be using them.....

Well...ok....maybe I can see using the popcorn one....it's making me hungry right now and I think one of my New Years' Resolutions was to stop eating stuff like that....so much....

 

I've been curious about the meaning of also. I'm also curious about in that I'm obviously too unimaginative to figure out where I'd use it. I just need a guy holding a "duh" sign!

 

The whore thing started as a reference to a "post whore" or someone who just posts as many random, crap posts as possible in order to up their post-per-day count, or raw post count.

The corner thing, I dunno though.

I believe the 'Corner' is each 50th post in a thread- the top of each new page (if your browser is set up to show 50 replies per page) and that it stems from the "Corner Game" where you get a point for each new 'corner' that you capture. There is perpetually a version of it going on in the s2ki forum "The Corner" which is the hangout of most of the site's "Post Whores". As you can tell from my PPD (Posts Per Day), I am not one, but there are a couple of Corner regulars who post here in the Vintage forum as well (you know who you are )

In the So Cal forum, a mostly younger, male forum, I've seen used after photos of a HOT chick are posted. I think some in Vintage may think it but not post it. I know I have to tone down my posts for Vintage but say other stuff that I wouldn't post here, in So Cal. And some thought I was naughty here!
