On the hat issue. I gave the hat to Matt as a gag gift and to show how much we appreciated him being our leader, no matter how many times he lost us. I thought it was soooo appropriate and right on time for the drive and the spirit of the group. I gave it in good humor and hope it was and will continue to be received that way.

Once a gift is given, it belongs to the giftee to do with as he wishes. Since everybody seems to like the hat and the spirit behind it, I think Matt should pass it around to any group leader who gets lost and dares to wear it. The only problem I have is with it being called the hat of shame. How about the hat of fame? You must have a sense of humor to wear it with pride, though.

So, Matt, I think you should be the official keeper of the hat and bestow it on anyone you think has truly earned it however, I think it should always come back to you just in case the remote possibility of you needing it again should arise.
