Angry Tennesee explosion.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/10/us/hi...sion-tennessee

A facility in Tennessee which produced munitions had a massive explosion.
Of note the US Govt DOD has been ramping up manufacturing capability in the US.
It is not unusual for errors to occur when new people are added into a process.

This one cost 19 lives so far.

Damn, all you can say is they all went quick. I wonder if it had to do with the big TNT contract?

When you apply for a job like that you must know that you could be living on borrowed time, just like a fireworks factory. No money in the world for me. May those people RIP, I suspect 19 is on the low side.

If it was a military contract, there was no TNT. It does not look like a large building of the type that makes molded warheads for bombs and missiles, mixing and processing those ingredients. Those ingredients are usually in separate buildings/hardened structures that facilitate manufacturing.

I worked in the Explosive business at Atlas Chemical Co. We had an occasional explosion which we called shots. The plant was located in Tamaqua, PA which is a coal region in the mountains. One awful one in 1968 was in the building that made nitro glycerin in 55 Gal. rubber drums. A gear threw off a spark which fell into the drum. 8 workers were blown apart. A piece of pipe was found wrapped around and embedded in a tree by more than 6 inches. The only body part found was a chest cavity over 100 yards away, Like some comments said they never knew what hit them. We knew some of them. RIP.

No survivors found after a massive blast at a Tennessee explosives plant left 18 people missing, officials say

No real surprise.
I can't imagine the horror if you lived nearby and had family working there.
You would know instantly.
