Default Thanks

Yesterday I traded the S in for a MY05 C6 Vette. Red / Red with a black convertible top. 6 speed manual. Took a two hour drive up to Oklahoma to purchase but it was too good a deal to pass up. A fair amount under invoice and they gave me full NADA for the S. That amounted to $17,500. On the way home I was amazed that I did get the advertised 28 mpg. 6th gear at 75 mph = 1600 RPM. The S always was about 4K.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the Vintage board. You are all great and very caring people. I hope you do not ban from the site as this is the best area of S2KI

Dan

Best wishes, Dan. You don't have to leave if you don't want to!

Good luck with the new Vette. Very nice machine!

I'd be interested in hearing your comments comparing the two with regard to driving experience and/or track (if you do that).

You're the second local S2000 owner to go from S2000 to C6. And he still attends all the club functions so there's no reason you shouldn't as well. Bring it to the Christmas party to show off.

Just wondering....

If one appreciated the S, why go to a C6? If I had gone elsewhere on my recent upgrade, I think the Boxster/S would have been a more likely move (similar car/ more torque).

Nevertheless, I'm glad to see a 'made in the US' purchase

Probably a better deal, Jer. Though I hope Dan comes back and answers.

C6 Vette is the only one since the 1960 model that I've ever really liked and would like to own.

Are they still making the "Xirallic" red color, Dan, or is this a flat red?

They have two reds. The one I have is Victory Red (see photo above). Have a darker red is a metal flake. Also a gloss finish
