Default Thanksgiving menu

Different folks, different strokes. Different areas, different traditions. What's your Thanksgiving menu?

Ours:

Roasted Turkey
Mashed potatoes & Gravy
Bread stuffing (Bell's mix)
Carrots and turnip mashed and mixed together, a New England favorite
Corn
Broccoli
Chicken nuggets Grandson is picky
Warm rolls
Pickles, sweet and dill and black olives
Cranberry sauce

Dessert - Unknown, daughter in law is bringing something.

Everything is organized, turkey is roasting, table is set. Rick is the chef de jour today, I'm just the helper, and I've not helped much yet.

Pretty standard turkey day fare plus a variety of vegetable casseroles asparagus, french style green beans, marinated carrots, peas and pineapple. Lots of emphasis on desserts too. I'm not that crazy about turkey; I prefer thin sliced turkey leftovers with plenty of salt and some majo on dark rye bread in the ensueing days.

We're having all the usual stuff, including a rotisserie-grilled Turkey. Here it is about 5 minutes ago (1.5 hours into it); about an hour plus to go...)

Smells awesome!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Turkey, stuffing, potatoes (usually mashed, but not always), gravy, salad, some other veg, rolls, cranberry sauce, cranberry relish, pumpkin pie, some other pie and lots of wine. My part is easy. All I need to do is bring the wine.

The temp is 79 at the moment. It looks like it will be a top down drive to dinner.

OMG, my daughter in law left home without the dessert.

No big deal. Rick doesn't eat dessert, the kids had Hoodsie cups (little servings of chocolate and vanilla ice cream), and after they left I called my brother, and found out dessert was just being served. We headed over for a visit.

Apple crisp and blueberry pie!
