Dang elected officials think they are above being corrected when they are wrong.

Someone needs to take a 2x4 to them to bring them back to reality.

 

I say fire the whole bunch and start over...but that's just my opinion.

 

I dunno - that one Rice professor I know can be a real biotch.

On second thought I wish it had been him vs. a Congressional comittee. That might have been entertaining in several languages - some dead.

 

Now that you mention our esteem prof, I'm surprised he has yet to stop by this thread.

Hi, Lainey. If you mean this Jim, I read the report next day in the local paper. I have no comment about the congressman and the professor exchange, but I do like rice with curry chicken.

No, I don't know him personally. I am Emeritus now. But I know that he is very well known and respected as an historian of contemporary American history, and his publications are numerous. He has been at Rice only since 2007.

But even the congressman no doubt capitalizes 'Rice' when using it as a proper noun - for a person or a university.
