Thinking hard about it
Speaking of Corvette and Lotus the C4 ZR1 engine was designed by Lotus. It was an all aluminum 5.7 liter with dual overhead cams and 4 valves per cylinder. It wasn't built by Lotus, it was built by Mercury Marine's MerCruiser Division. Quite the collaboration.
Yes Dave it is very different. I'm not at all a doomsday type of guy but I'm now 72 and time is getting shorter when I'll be able to really utilize and enjoy an exciting toy. Right now ingress and egress are not a problem- who knows for how long? I also think this car may hold value and possibly increase due to scarcity. They are saying that it will be Lotus's last internal combustion car.
it was really hard to let this go by,

I didn't find any thing easy about getting out of a C8 rag top. At my age I can fall into most any car except maybe NASCAR but getting out can be an issue. I stayed around and actually helped people out of the C8 who wanted to try it on for size. As a tin-top I suspect I would need help getting out of the new Lotus as well.
