I drive RS3 for track and autox. If you aren't really driving to the limit, the Hankook V12 is a more performance all season that does well.
I the RS3, as it is as close as I have found to an R comp that keeps me street legal and out of the R class at autox

Watch out as a lot of the tires for the S2000 are being replaced...
The Star Specs are being replaced with the ZII....
Almost all of the performance tires are getting an update between now and 2014.
I need to replace my rear Star Spec's..... but can't get them..... so I will be getting rid of the fronts with 50-60% tread...
So I will be buying the Dunlop ZII's for all 4 corners!
Don't think there were the star spec's for the MY00 unless you moved to 17" wheels......

Back when I was running the JDM OEM 16" 6-spoke wheels with R-S2's I noticed a big sale on my front tire size, so I bought a set, figured I would have them for the following year when I needed to replace all 4. Unfortunately I was not smart enough to understand that the big sale was because the R-S2 was being discontinued. In the spring I went to order the 245/45-16's only to find out none were available.
It was at this time that I decided I needed to make the change over to 17" and got all 4 new R-S3's.
So there I was, all new 17" tires, new AP2 V3 wheels, and 2 brand new never used 16" R-S2's I had no use for. They sat around for a year before I finally just gave them away to a fellow S2000 guy who needed fronts only. So much for that great sale........

And I totally agree, I too my R-S3's
And it's nice to see you are one of the people who understand just because it is called an "R"-S3 does not mean it is a competition class R-compound
I have read over and over how some people think of the R-S3 as a true R-comp tire, it's a great tire, but it ain't no R-comp

Toyo T1R 215/40ZR 17 on the front 235/45ZR17 on the rears for road Advan AO48 16 inch for those track days I have very good luck using the Tire Rack and when the rotors needed replacement got some Brembo's for a lot less than stock Honda rotors. (disclaimer have not done any track days with Brembo rotors) but seem to be holding up well on the street.

I run these now on my CRX-Si
They are a decent tire
They handle the water well, not too noisy, but I have found they lack a bit of ultimate grip
I especially notice it in the CRX-Si because on proper tires the car is capable of more than one full g of lateral grip
One of the reasons I like the Hankook so well is when you push them too far the progression from grip to slip is a gentle transition
I have found at least on the CRX-Si with a full track suspension the T1R goes from grip to slip in anything but a transition, it's all grip, and then all slip
When driving it hard it takes a great deal of concentration because you are fine one second, and then holy crap the next
The reason I went with them was based upon size only, they were the last non R-comp tire I could find in the perfect size 195/55-14...
I will cry when I have to replace them and go back to 185/60-14
