Default Top down while moving = cool!

This may be a repost as I couldn't think of any search terms to describe this minor mod.

Anyway by cutting one wire in the harness below the passenger kick plate and pulling up the parking brake one click (doesn't engage) you can operate the top while moving!

Very

And much cheaper than most S2K mods.

I recall a thread (maybe in the electrical stuff forum) about this a couple of years back -- IIRC, you can just unplug that particular wire and not cut it, so it's reversible. You do get the annoying parking brake beep, but it's a minor hassle.

There have been several times when it's started raining that I'd like to be able to raise the top as I'm coming to a stop or in slow traffic, so it's a useful mod as well as a cool one for the pull-away mode. HPH

Oooohhh - that annoying beep must be an AP2 thing.

The cut is much simpler than disconnecting the module and pushing out the pin. There's some really important stuff in there I didn't want to mess up.

And it's still reversible if you can find someone the right size with the patience to reconnect and tape the wire.

My tape job on the two hanging pieces of wire wouldn't pass code anywhere but it was really hot out today.

Here you go mon ami:

Cut the black/white wire on the right side of the module; second from the left on the bottom.

A few local New England guys have done this. A couple more probably will do it at a tech day early next month.

And you and Rick? It really is easy to do - much easier than the Modifry shift beeper mod.

Hadn't given it much thought.....we'll be cooking hot dogs at the tech day. Maybe someone will do that mod on our S while we're cooking.
