I was inside and I didn't notice much of a change as the sun was over the front of our home. I saw one neighbor outside taking his glasses on and off, I will have to ask him what he saw.

It was mostly clear here in NE Massachusetts for the entire event. The sun was a little over 60% covered at the peak.
It started just before 1:30PM [ we missed the actual start] and ended just before 4:00PM [we did see that].
I've been viewing the sun occasionally through my 8 inch F/6 Newtonian scope [with a sun filter ahead of the primary mirror] for years and that's how we watched it.
The next one visible here will be in 7 years and should be even better. .

We got out of Kansas City but are still one flight from home in Las Vegas. We both fly out around 10:30 am. Had to hotel it after midnight in Vegas.

You were lucky to get out. They had some really bad flooding in KC from the storms that passed through. Did the airline pick up the hotel?

The eclipse begins shortly after sunrise. We'll have to go out in my boat to see it.

Southwest did not pay for the hotel. Weather is not their fault so I didn't expect them to. We watched that flooding while sitting on the plane for close to 3 hours. It was quite a light show with pounding rain and thunder. We were told that if we didn't get out of KC MO last night we wouldn't get out until Wednesday. All flights leaving on Tuesday (today) were fully booked. We had lots of company who flew there for the eclipse. We are in Vegas waiting for our flights to Sacramento and Orange County.

Your return trip is worse than mine! Can't believe it…

My return 252 mile return trip from Casper, WY took 12 3/4 hours behind the wheel due to traffic snarls. Had food in my SUV, so only made one potty stop (about 10 minutes).

Good luck, Patty!
