Yeah, I understand there are some families in NJ and other dense states who have 4 Hondas for 4 people. It's really over the top...

The husband probably goes home to his wife and complains about 'those people clogging up the roads'

I'm trying to think of a polite way to tell you to mind your own business and to keep your opinions to yourself. When I ask you to pay for the cars I'll welcome your opinion, until then keep it to yourself.

Thats as polite as I can make it.

^^^ Easy, Rob. I think Jerry's reply was tongue-in-cheek.

You can't go anywhere around here between 4pm and 6:30pm. Everything is gridlocked from light to light. Luckily that's when I go to the gym, and I can just drive through our development to get there.

I remember how bad the traffic got in Bergen County on a Saturday, and of course it only got worse coming up to Christmas. Sunday was the only day you could get anywhere fast on Rt 4 and Rt 17.

I don't mind the reply I just don't like being singled out. I don't instigate and I don't provoke, but like Israel, if attacked I will retaliate with all I've got.

Tongue in cheek is when someone else is in the crosshairs, I wonder how you or anyone else would feel being a constant target.

Hey, Jerry. How about three Hondas, two people, and almost zero miles? I think you participated in almost 1% or so of my '01's miles.

I don't even own cows or horses or bison to clog up the Wyoming roadways.

Which reminds me of the time, in far western Colorado, that I ended up behind a cattle drive. Fragrant traffic that got the roads all slicked up (and the car brown).

If this ever happens to you in your S, pull off at once, put up the top, and close the windows. Yuck. HPH

Back to traffic. Has anyone noticed how much more traffic there is now that we're back to "winter" hours? My 45 minute commute now takes me 1 hour and 20 minutes.

I've always wondered why this is. Is it because the school busses, teachers and older students are back on the road? Is it because all of the part timers, and parents who take the summer off to be with their kids have gone back to work? Is it a combination of the two?

I know that there is a pattern to the traffic around here. Friday is the lightest traffic day, followed by Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the heaviest. This is true both summer and winter, but the light days are much lighter in the summer and the heavy traffic days much worse in the winter.
