Tunnel V-Tec
Park Ave south in NYC has a block long tunnel (famous in the remake of Godzilla when matthew Broderick's cab drives through to avoid the jaws of certain death).
So is it just me, but when I pass through a tunnel or overpass, I down shift into 2nd or 3rd just to have the cams come on and that sweet song resonate...seems indulgent in these days of 3.50 gas and enviromental awareness.
Guess it's my confession for the day, to those I guess may have the same problem.

I do it too, every chance I get. I even do it sometimes when I'm in the left lane next to the concrete medians.
It's even better in my Si at 7,500 rpm. The car screams and the sound resonates off of everything.

Just wait until you stick a nice intake on it! Better than baseball cards in your bike spokes.
Although I do not have one, just a K&N in the stock air box. My first experience with that sound was on a drive here in Virginia while having Wing Man (Dave) right behind me on a twisty little perfect S road up over the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway down in Valentine's neck of the woods. This road has a posted speed limit of 55 MPH and even in an S one can not maintain that speed!
But that throaty sound of Dave's cold air intake sure sounded good.

I like to down shift while going under the interstate overpass on the way home from work. Also is nice to downshift there because it is a 270 onto the interstate, and the only times I have hit the breaks there is following another vehicle. (road on is only 35mph).
I have never gotten over 25mph with my car yet. Granted I have never driven a long distance on the highway with the top up either.

However the weather's been so cruddy I haven't had the S out for days and days.
