Default Turn signals

Have you noticed the alarming rate of drivers who do not use their turn signals. Driving to Florida and while staying in Florida I would bet that 1/3 or more of drivers do not use them for turning, lane changes or merging. I guess those folks are too cool to use them or how can they use them when they are talking or texting and drinking a beverage. The car manufacturers need to step up and start installing turn signal voice commands to solve this growing problem. Of course that would be a problem for the person shoving food in their mouth. I was riding my bike yesterday, came to a stop sign and stopped. As I started pedaling a driver coming the other way turned right in front of me. No turn signal of course. Then he had the nerve to yell at me so I yelled back and I won't print what I yelled back It is no different in my state and I was wondering if other states have the same problem.

Maybe because I live in a rural area of the Adirondacks but most people seem to use this feature on their cars.

Even police don't use there turn signals in Kentucky. I was almost run off the road by one by one last year when he decided to cut in front of me after he had passed his exit. The stenceling on the car said "highway safety patrol". So much for highway safety.

I though that in Florida, the turn signal lever was welded in the Left Turn position when the car left the dealer.

Unfortunately this is pervasive across the country, I guess it's hard to operate a signal mechanism while driving, adjusting the radio and texting at the same time.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the Q-tips down here never turn them off.

My wife and I disagree on the use of turn signals (and of course she records my every failing )

She uses the turn signal EVERY TIME the wheel shifts off of "dead ahead". I use the turn signal when there is a valid reason to inform another driver about my pending action....turning left, changing lanes, etc.

When there is no one in SIGHT in any direction, then I might not signal my turn. When I am in a "turn only" lane exiting a major road, then I might not signal my turn.

Heck, I don't want to wear OUT that expensive HONDA-brand turn signal signaller....
