Twins Update
Some months ago, I posted to indicate that +1 spent the summer in CA from 6 May -23 July) helping out our son, wife, and grandchildren during a difficult pregnancy. Several members asked for an an after action report. Anna Paige (4 pounds )and Julia Claire (4 pounds 11) were born 15 July, fully 5 weeks premature. Mother spent 3, 11, and 4 days in UC Davis, San Francisco, and Fairfield hospitals, respectively. The twins were in pediatric ICU for 11 days before being released, perhaps earlier than would be normally expected. One was a natural birth, the other via C-section. Family has since moved (15 Aug) to Ohio. The twins are presently doing fine and both are almost 7 pounds in weight. Just came back from a visit today, and they appear to be normal and thriving. We're grateful indeed. Thought I would share the medical costs. They are up to $340,000 and bills are still coming. Can you believe that? Stunning! My son being a physician did not cut any slack with the bills. Is this what happens when you have guaranteed, full-paying insurance with no deducts or co-pays? Scary stuff!
Thanks for your interest.

Patty: Yes, move to Ohio had to be delayed from June until August because of the problem pregnancy. +1 went to CA because Mom was on 100% bed rest at 24 weeks. Plus, there was the matter of the three other grandchildren.
Lainey: I'll have see if I can get some recent pics, and yes, I don't seem to have a clue about how to post pics. The twins could not look less alike.
Thanks for your interest. Can non-emergency ambulance transports for 42 and 46 miles really cost $1800 and $2200 respectively? I AM out of touch.

John, I'll PM you my email address if you get some pics you'd like me to post.
So glad to hear everything is working out for the best, RC. And I hear you on the medical costs. Our 8 day stint with my granddaughter was over $100k not including the doctor's bills, and after what you (and Lainey) just said about transportation, I don't EVEN want to see what it cost to helicopter three of them about 50 miles. However, as long as everybody's all right, we count our blessings and let the bills fall where they may.
Can't wait to see the pictures.
