Default Twisty driving

Now here is a real vintage driver breaking the Pike's Peak record. Nobuhira Najima is 61.
Pikes Peak
It is available in HD stream there too, and it's quite good.

A 900-HP Suzuki, no less. Here's a link to the PP road -- somehow it didn't look quite like that in the car-cam video. HPH

Incredible drive!

Not sure which is more insane, Tajima or the spectators standing at some corner apex's (and sticking their heads out in order to see the car for a few seconds)!

With that kind of power, there is NO margin for error on that hill.

I had this up on my big screen. Cool video. He keeps going up and up faster and faster.

Check out 2:25 min. He gets a full moon as he goes by. Good quality hd recording to pick that up.

Is it powering something like a "D Sports racer" I did not find what kind of vehicle it was in?

I have had the experience of climbing Pike's Peak on a motorcycle back in August of 1980. I can attest that there are spots with NO margin of error. The good news here is that if one goes over the side, where in places there are over a thousand foot drop, at least in this event they would know to look for you. As a casual driver/rider as I was on a motorcycle, they would never even know to look for your body.

After we reached the summit our motorcycles would not start because the air was too thin. We had to coast down almost to the tree line before they would run. The unpaved part is not gravel but more like small rocks which are VERY exciting on a motorcycle that is "dancing" around on them.

One can only imagine how exciting this drive would be in an Eighteen wheeler tractor He averaged almost 100 MPH

A friend of mine, a car guy who's not familiar with the PP climb, watched the first video and complained that it looked like a sloppy run (Najima missed this and that corner apex and so on) that could have been faster.

Then I showed him the map and the second video, and he just said "Oh." HPH
