I buy the smallest bottles of STA-BIL as the shelf life is 2 years after opened. It does not harm anything if older, it just may not be as effective.
Not recommended to use if it has turned a very dark red or brown color.

Also, if you have a vintage car beware.... we have MG club members with bad experiences with STA-BIL and older rubber, older seals, etc.
