Thanks to all that have served. I did not. I did serve as the chair for the Local Draft Board from 1982 - 1992. We practiced twice a year going over cases.
I find it a bit curious that so far no Coast Guardies have joined us? I am not quite as surprised that so far no Marines have weighed in. I guess most of them are on the Corvette or Ford Mustang web site?
Any ideas why we have not seen any Marines or Guardies?
What group of folks, feel proud to be in the group.
June 1967 - Drafted (18 months) right out of High School.
January 1969 through September 1989 - Joined the Air Force, serving in Vietnam, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Alaska, and various US bases. I really enjoyed my time in the military.
I was an F4C Phantom pilot in the Air Force. The most fun I've ever had in my life. I didn't go to Nam, but five of my buddies in the same squadron did. Three of them were shot down and killed in North Vietnam.

And I thought that I was lucky winding up as a "Chair Borne" "Remmington Ranger at the Pentagon. As an F4C pilot you dodged not only the Nam bullet, but probably a bunch of SAM's as well.
I think that it is interesting seeing interviews with F4 pilots that flew over the north, that they almost all complained of "sensory overload" and would shut some of the warning systems down so that they could "just aviatate".

Voted despite not being "Vintage." Currently, I am the only Marine having responded to the poll.
Skip,
I know that you work at Quantico, but I did not realize that you where (are) a marine? I assume that you are no longer on active duty? Unless, I am totally missing something?
