'Vintage First Timer'
Bill and Tamara had an interesting 'inauguration' on the Carlisle Drive last weekend.....here's his edge of the seat report on the Del Val Forum. Sort of like one of those 'coming of age' indie movies....

That is a very good piece that Bill has written. Unfortunately I couldn't attend this year's Carlisle meet, but if it was anything like last year's it must've been great. Paul puts together a great drive, and sets a superb pace as drive leader. I wish I'd have been able to attend.
More than the "white knuckle" of the drive, I read in Bill's excellent piece the excitement and anticipation of attending his first meet, the exhilaration of driving his S faster and harder than he had ever driven it before, and the thrill of sharing that experience with other S2000 owners. Those are some of the same feelings that I think we all go through, and remarkably always remain with us.
We are a unique community, us S2000 owners, and especially us Vintage S2000 owners. Even though I've attended many meets since my first, New Hope '03, I still get very antsy the week before, and drive to the meet with great anticipation and excitement. Not so much for the drive, although I really do enjoy the drive, but rather just to see those people who through the car, this site and our meets have become my very close friends. This never goes away, no matter how many meets you attend. It only gets better.
Bill and Tamara, now that you have attended your first meet, and met some of us face to face, welcome to our little circle. I'm sorry that I couldn't make it, but I look forward to meeting you at some future event. Thanks for the great writeup.

nice write-up -- too bad nothing like that ever really happens...
I first met Eliot last year on the way to the WTD 04 run. Us Vintage folks never go much over the speed limit, well perhaps a bit.
