Thanks for the suggestion.

Lainey

I have practiced qigong for a long time.

Type "qigong arthritis" into google.

Lainey, I have osteoarthritis too, like most of us probably do, with age.

Triple Flex works great for me.

Sometimes I forget to take my 2 tablets/day and then it dawns when I start getting aches. When I went to Colorado last month over 8 days, I didn't take any with me. By the time I got home my left leg, that I broke 22 years ago, was really aching. After 3 days back on Triple Flex, it stopped hurting.

FWIW, today is better than yesterday and a lot better than Tuesday. I did make an appointment with a local ortho that my sis and brother in law speak highly of.

I'd like to get his .02, along with some advice on the do's and don't's. I figured why wait until it's really bad, maybe a nice big needle with some cortisone will help calm things down. For a $20.00 co pay and the price of some X rays I may get some info.

Any out of pocket expenses will likely also apply to next year's deductible too, since the appointment is in the last quarter and my deductible was not met this year. Gotta plan these things out.

Hope, what ever you try works. I have found out that Art Rites is a weird dude and not to be trusted. One day you think you're a mess, thanks to Art. So, you try this and that and "this" and "that". One day this works. Next day, that works. Hummm. For a number of years I did three Glucosamine/Chondroitin/etc. pills per day and they really seemed to help. My doc, who said "OK, if you think they work, go for it . . but there is no evidence. . ." Then, after several years I thought, well I'm going to stop taking them. The outcome, no change, except I saved a lot money. Did they work? I really believe they did but who knows. All I really know is Art shows up now and again and often Mr Beam kicks his ass. Also, I have adjusted to my limits when doing Zumba.

Yeah, Art is kind of flaky. I need to take up drinking.

Glad to hear you adjusted your limits at Zumba. One can overdo.

We have one young guy that comes to the class regularly. He looks like he's dropped quite a bit of weight. Yesterday another man (white hair) showed up with a regular attendee. Anyway, he was dressed in chinos, a sports shirt and sneakers, not your typical gym attire. Before long the shirt came off (he was wearing a T shirt) and he was sweating up a storm. He kept up pretty well, though I heard him say to the girl he was with, "You do this three times a week?" Not sure if he lost a bet or what, and wonder if he'll be back.

Shoulder is feeling better. Took about a week to get back to "normal." I dug out my physical therapy "thera bands" and am going to see if I can strengthen both shoulders a bit. Keeping that arm low in classes too. I still have a doc appointment next month, but maybe instead of the shoulder we'll discuss plantar fasciitis.

Darn heel won't heal. Ice, stretching, inserts, and 1/2 hour into class it starts to hurt.

Getting old is not for sissies.

Also started on glucosamine. Skipped the chondroitin. Don't have a lot of faith in it, and hate flushing money away. From what I read it's not that successful, and the glucosamine is the most helpful, IF it helps. I cut the horse pills in half and still almost chocked to death on one this morning. That would cure the arthritis!
Quack Watch

The Bottom Line

Chondroitin appears to be useless. Whether glucosamine is useful is conflicting, but the best-designed studies are negative. This usually means that negative evidence will eventually prevail. Decisions to use glucosamine must be based on information that is less complete than is desirable. In addition, product quality control may be a significant problem.
