Wallets
I'm not superstitious but I hate changing wallets. I can't help but feel the change would bring bad luck. As a result, I generally use a wallet until it's falling apart and won't hold my cash and cards. My wife laughs at me and I suppose she's right, but when it comes to this kind of thing I just don't want to tempt fate.
I too have started to use the app "Keyring". I think it's great. I've been able to take some of the cards out of my wallet. I also use "Google Pay" which has helped me to eliminate some cards as well.

My wife got me a genuine water buffalo folding wallet (impervious to water) by Coach. Pricey but man that thing wears like iron. Coming up on 20 years. No end in sight for that bad boy.
I use a lightweight "throwaway" wallet with "cash light" money in it, for New York and overseas for the pickpockets. I have an inside the waistband zippered wallet that has a belt loop for IDs, other cards, and the real cash. If the bad guys get their hands on that, I have bigger problems.
