Default What a Wonderful Fall

Week before last, Dragon Ball Run. If you haven't checked out the pics in the Dragon Events forum you should. It was amazing...as always. Great to see Vintage well represented by Looter (Denny), Batguano (Lee), and Triman (Jay) along with their lovely +1's.

This past four days I participated in the self-proclamed Greatest Amateur Golf Tournament in Mississippi, a.k.a. the Slavic Open. Four days of golf, great food, lots of adult beverages, and fellowship. Don't ask how my team did. Let's just say we had a wonderful time. The weather was amazing: sunny and cool with low humidity for the entire event.

Friday night was a low point, however. An old friend heard my S was for sale and came over to cut a deal. He got the "friend's rate" and drove away with the S that evening. I'll try to post more on my thoughts regarding the best car I've ever owned in a separate post. For now, I just want to thank all of you, my fellow Vintage s2k owners, and the younger ones as well, for making the past four years the best car ownership experience I've ever known.

This week is our annual Cruising the Coast. We expect around 5000 antiques, muscle cars, old sports cars, and street rods this year. I'll try to get some pics again to share. Maybe bring back some memories of youths and transportation dollars mis-spent for some of you.

Happy Motoring
Mike

Well...hard to tell what will replace the S at this point.

Maybe you should do a poll.

If I found something like the chevy in your avatar I might have to jump on it. And cruisin' the coast is going on right now and includes an auction!

Hey, I'm always ready to start a poll!

You know, the Chevy in my avatar was . However, unless we have lots of $$ to buy a stable full of cars like Jay Leno, our one toy will have the creature comforts the old ones don't.

I know how you feel. Sold mine this time last year and I still get the blues when I see a nice one driving around. Maybe some day.

I knew this was coming but still didn't want to hear it. At least you got in another Dragon weekend. What are you driving now?

I guess I happy for you but I can't imagine the feeling of watching it drive away.
I'm hoping I never reach that point.

At the moment I'm driving my beater, a 95 Camry V6. Not a bad ride but shortly after I bought it the poorly prepped paint job started peeling off the hood. Now its starting to look like one of those "tuned" imports from cali that shines like a dime but for the hood that has purposely been oxidized a nice even rust brown. But worse: it's an automatic. Hope I don't forget how to heel/toe.

Sad your S is gone, but glad you're still posting! Can't wait to see what the replacement ride will be.
