Chaz, I have never been able to enter the chatroom....I get the Red X of Death where the info doesn't load. W/o a MSNE certificate, I haven't figured out what to do with this:
[QUOTE=paS2K,Mar 9 2005, 05:13 PM] Rob, I'm curious about why you can never 'lighten up' about anything. Carmen made his reply...he's a big boy....not needing your support. Most people here seem to be able to differentiate between 'kidding' and serious criticism.

What's a chat room?
Edit- I am only partly serious/kidding. I think I know, but I have never visited one. What's the advantage over just posting back and forth in the normal threads?

j/k
Morris - it's the difference between instant messengering and e-mailing back and forth. If you don't use an instant messenger program you really need to....it keeps my daughter in California from calling me every night because we can chat online throughout the day and it's definitely brought my sister and me closer because we can communicate in short bursts without having to spend 20 minutes listening to each other breathe (I get a fixed, glazed stare and my brain starts screaming when I have to spend more than 5 minutes on the phone)
Man, I must've missed the maliciousness in Jerry's comment to Ohio...I even had coffee and read it again and still didn't catch it....2 days in a row. It sounded more playful to me. I have to question whether we'd be this touchy in person or whether the keyboard makes us more bold in our responses.

As far as hiding behind the computer, there is no question about that the fact that because the discussions are not face to face empowers people to say things they wouldn't in person. One of the points of the Vintage forum was supposed to be the elimination of that sort of thing.

If you've missed the maliciousness than you have some catch up reading to do. More than a couple of people have been put off by some of the comments, myself included. Perhaps this is an argument that you should stay out of.

Love the Chat. Faster. I need instant gratification!
I hope more from Vintage go there more often. Sometimes I go there and talk to the kids. They have quite a variety of things to say
Ralper, dang, I thought I was the ONLY one you were ill with... I'm hurt.

Please don't yell at me Ruthy. I don't like to do searches. Besides, there are always some who are willing to inform the less informed.
If we were face to face, would you yell "do a search you bastard" like you typed? (now I'm kidding)
I don't think I'd do well in a chat room, cause I type slow, and the conversation would always be two subjects ahead of me.
