Same here. I have a real fear of those critters. My mom's apartment building had them years ago. What an ordeal!

That tip came from Grant (S2k / Corvette) in FL when he was traveling around the country in his new Vette. We have not heard from him in a very long time; hope he is ok.
I generally book directly with the Hilton Honors website or I call the hotel directly. I've seen people checking in having issues when reservations were made with some of the online sites.
We have also stayed in a Holiday Inn Express with no issues.

We do have some plans for a trip in September to Michigan. Not sure where we are staying. Hubby has made all of the reservations. We do often stay at Hampton Inns, though.

And, I must admit…I am somewhat nervous about this upcoming trip…
What are your concerns? Staying in a hotel? Dining out? As far as Covid, I don't have any real concerns about staying in a hotel. Mask up in common areas, etc. Most of any time spent with travel will be outdoors or with family who are vaccinated. No rock concerts on our schedule.

One of my favourites was Hilton Garden Inn, you could usually get a real full breakfast with a chef making you real food, not that junk breakfast most places try to pass off. It was worth the extra cost.

I had lunch with Grant and his wife Susan just a couple weeks ago while visiting Naples. They are doing great - their store developed a great "in-person" shopping app during Covid lockdowns which kept them running, they are enjoying life and in good health.

Thanks Jonas. Good hear, he went through a really rough spell a couple years ago.

Stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn, in Santa Rosa, CA for a concert. One of the more enjoyable long weekends.

Well…We have tickets for two football games in Ann Arbor with about 100,000 of our closest friends.

I am not so concerned about the hotels or dining out, but I am concerned about the football games. Of course, when we bought the tickets, things were looking much better with COVID-19, but not so great now.

On the two stays I just had at Hampton Inns, both had prominent notes posted everrywhere stating that masks were required in all common areas. I noticed no one, including me, was paying any attention to the "rules." Guess my attitude has changed since I got the vaccination.

I usually stay at Hampton Inn's unless there is an Embassy Suites nearby. Embassy has a two hour complementary Happy Hour as well as a cook to order breakfast / buffet.

Tomorrow and Saturday Ken and I are staying at a Sleep Inn in Summersville, WV while scoping out the WV "Hell Bender" loop for an upcoming possible meet. I will report back when I return.
