Actually, I've been buried with work. In what little spare time I have had, I've also been working on a project.
Some of you may already know that I purchased a wrecked S2k from a fellow SoCal board member a few weeks ago. It unfortunately went backwards off a cliff and down a 200' hillside.
Even though the frame was straight, the insurance company decided to call it a total loss. The member bought it from the insurance company but decided to sell rather than fix it. Nobody wanted to buy the car in one piece, and he was about to part it out. I thought this would be a crime (as did he) so he gave me a great price to buy it whole and restore it. I had the remains towed to Spugen, where Duc and his wizards would perform their magic.
The scavenger hunt was on! Duc and I scoured the country for the needed parts. (an ongoing process)
(That's the new rear suspension and sub-frame about to be installed)
That in, it was time for alignment, exhaust, etc...
Next came a new radiator and other front end work...
Miraculously... look what I picked up this morning
Bubble was happy to welcome home her new adopted brother Lester.
(Who says Spas and Berlinas can't co-exist? )
There's still much to do, but To Duc and the Spugen team for making this all possible. And thanks also to Paul (RhinoS2k), Paul (hondaS2001), Ernie (spoon usa), Albert (aplus_2000) and numerous others who also helped to make this happen.
The original plan was to make it a track only car.
Here's the problem... the title came back CLEAN... not salvage. The car is now mechanically perfect. It also looks pretty darned good. It's an '02 (glass window) and only has 20k miles. Its' worth an awful lot more than I thought it would be. As a result, I don't know if I want to strip it anymore. I may sell it... I may do some outrageous paint scheme... I may still strip it...
It's got an AEM V2 and a Veliside titanium single exhaust, so it's incredibly loud. It's an awful lot of fun. (Makes me feel 19 )
What to do... what to do...
Wouldn't it be nice if all our decisions were this tough?
In the mean time, Rob, I'll get to work on some new trivia questions.
