Win7 64 bit
Thought i would try here first, anybody running this OS ? Pro's , Con's, any advice. I know some older software wont run, but we use mostly Excel , and that should not be an issue.
I am running Win7-64 on my laptop, and have not had a single incident. I have had that computer for about 4 months now. I have not had issues with non-64 bit applications , but some apps (Flash in particular) need to be the 64 bit version. But no real issues.
About the same here. The 64 bit version of Internet Explorer 8 can be a bit balky at times (back button stops working for example) but if I close and reopen the browser it's fine.
The Professional and Ultimate versions also let you run a virtual XP machine in it's own address space - pretty neat.

Sorry I'm late to the party -- I have Win7x64 on two systems (desktop all-in-one, a top-end Sony) and laptop (top-end Dell workstation), each with 8GB of memory. Now that Cisco has released an x64 version of VPN, there's nothing I can complain about. It's rock solid, runs every x32 application I have just fine, thank you, and does extremely well with big x64 applications like Photoshop and some technical things.
That said, without the extra memory and serious processing capability (and the need for these technical programs), I'm not sure it's really something to aspire to. Some on-line applications, for example, don't like being accessed by IEx64. HPHP

Yeah - I couldn't help but notice the sticker price.
I'll be anxious to hear the "Windows Experience Index" numbers for this beast - my Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop is rated at 5.2. It's like dyno numbers for computers.
