Default Windows 10 problems

Friend, got a new computer, unfortunately, with Windows 10 installed. He is having problems logging onto the Net (getting "broken-heart" icon). He is using a Verizon break-out box to access the Net. Best Buy "tried" to fix the issue, but could not.

Interestingly, he can no longer access the Net on his phone (Iphone).

Is this an issue with Verizon, Win 10, or both?

Thanks!

If he is indeed having a problem such as this, the commonality is the "Verizon break out box" (whatever that may be). The iPhone should connect via LTE which by-passes any local device. Anyway. look to Verizon for the solution. (BTW, is this Verizon device new? And if so, who installed it?)

Thanks! The Verizon box allows him to get Net access, via Wi-Fi. Not sure why he can't connect to the Net, through 4G. Will talk to him today.

So it's a wireless router. Can he connect to the device any other way? Desktop or laptop computer? Does he have a printer connected to the Verizon device? If he has any of these connected, he can get the IP address range the router is giving out (if any at all).

No printer. Or other peripherals hooked to the router. He is pretty much a luddite. So going over this issue with him, on the phone, can be very painful.

Will talk to him tonight. Update you.

Thanks, again!

Sorry to put you through that. I've known people like that. Take two aspirins (or a double Scotch) and good luck.
