Windows 11
I've been running the Developer version for about 6 months. Installed the release version on the 5th. (Just so you know, I run it in a virtual machine on a Mac). Win 10 will be supported until 2025 so you can take your time to decide if you want to upgrade. There are some interesting changes (the taskbar is now centered ala Mac, the Settings are a bit more difficult to find specific settings) but it works like Windoze. MS adopted a version of Google Chrome for the default browser and it's a nice change from Internet Exploder.
I won't miss Internet Exploder.
The current version of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are both built on the open source code from the Chromium project. If you have enabled automatic Windows updates you are probably running the Chromium based version of Edge that was released in 2020.

I have AVG browser because I installed the pretty good AVG Anti-malware app. I did not appreciate the AVG browser getting installed without asking me first. I really did not appreciate the installer setting the AVG browser as my default.
It is no longer my default. That would be Chrome. In fact, it looks to me like the AVG browser is just Chrome with a few annoying add-ons that I found intrusive.

mostly concerned about printer drivers. Everything else will be the latest version of what she's using,

I don' think you need to t be concerned about drivers. They all seem to be the same as Win10. I've tested the O/S since the first beta and have never had a problem with printer or video drivers.

I can't wait to get my hands on Windows 11. I've always loved getting new software and operating systems and learning to use them, but I have a problem. I have 4 computers in my home office but I can only presently load Win 11 on one of them. Unfortunately, that one is my main computer and I don't dare take the chance that some of my software, printers or other accessories won't work. My notebook is an Apple Macbook Pro that I run Windows on (because of my tax and other software). Unfortunately, it will not run Windows 11 except as a virtual machine and I don't want to do that. My Surface Pro doesn't run TPM 2.0 and doesn't have the required processor. My second desktop, in spite of the fact that it's got an I-7 chip and 32 GB of memory, its about a 6-year-old Asus motherboard. It runs really well but doesn't support TPM and the chip is not up to the Win 11 standard.
I know that there are workarounds for my other desktop, but rather than play with the registry, I'm going to continue to run Win10 on it for a few more years on that machine. I will download and install Win11 on my main computer as soon as I finish a few tax returns that are on extension and a few more engagements that I have.
I'm really quite anxious to play with Win11. I especially like that it will, in the future, run Android apps.
